Modern Slavery Policy
1. Purpose
BG of Australia Pty Ltd is committed to conducting its business ethically, responsibly and with integrity. We recognise that modern slavery is a serious violation of fundamental human rights and are committed to taking reasonable steps to minimise the risk of modern slavery within our operations and supply chains.
This Policy outlines our commitment to preventing modern slavery and sets out the expectations we have of our employees, suppliers and business partners.
2. Scope
This Policy applies to:
BG of Australia Pty Ltd;
all directors, officers and employees;
contractors and temporary workers; and
suppliers, service providers and other business partners engaged by the Company.
3. Definition of Modern Slavery
Modern slavery includes, but is not limited to:
human trafficking;
slavery and servitude;
forced labour;
debt bondage;
deceptive recruiting practices;
forced marriage;
child labour where prohibited by law; and
the worst forms of exploitation as recognised under applicable Australian legislation.
4. Our Commitment
BG of Australia Pty Ltd is committed to:

complying with all applicable Australian laws relating to modern slavery;
treating all employees fairly and with dignity;
providing a workplace free from discrimination, harassment and coercion;
engaging suppliers who operate responsibly and lawfully;
encouraging transparency throughout our supply chain; and
continually reviewing our business practices to reduce the risk of modern slavery.
5. Employment Practices
BG of Australia Pty Ltd will:
comply with all applicable employment legislation;
ensure all employees work voluntarily and are free to cease employment in accordance with applicable employment laws;
pay employees in accordance with applicable industrial instruments and employment contracts;
prohibit forced, compulsory or involuntary labour;
verify employees’ legal right to work in Australia; and
maintain safe and healthy working conditions.
6. Supplier Expectations
We expect our suppliers and contractors to:
comply with all applicable employment and workplace laws;
prohibit all forms of modern slavery within their operations;
treat workers fairly and with respect;
maintain lawful wages and working conditions;
cooperate with reasonable requests for information relating to ethical sourcing; and
notify BG of Australia Pty Ltd if they become aware of any actual or suspected modern slavery within their operations or supply chains.
Where appropriate, BG of Australia Pty Ltd may request suppliers to provide declarations or information regarding their labour practices.
7. Due Diligence
Given the size and nature of our business, BG of Australia Pty Ltd adopts a risk-based approach to managing modern slavery risks. This may include:
assessing new suppliers before engagement where appropriate;
considering country of origin and industry-specific risks;
maintaining ongoing relationships with reputable suppliers;
responding appropriately to concerns raised regarding unethical labour practices; and
periodically reviewing this Policy.
8. Reporting Concerns
Employees, contractors and suppliers are encouraged to report any concerns regarding suspected modern slavery or unethical conduct to management as soon as practicable.
Reports will be treated seriously and investigated appropriately. BG of Australia Pty Ltd will not tolerate retaliation against any person who raises a genuine concern in good faith.
9. Responsibilities
Management is responsible for:
promoting awareness of this Policy;
ensuring reasonable due diligence is undertaken where appropriate;
responding to reports of suspected modern slavery; and
reviewing this Policy periodically.
Employees are responsible for complying with this Policy and reporting any suspected breaches.
10. Policy Review
This Policy will be reviewed periodically to ensure it remains appropriate to the size, nature and operations of BG of Australia Pty Ltd and to reflect any changes in applicable legislation or business practices.
